An update in regards to chiropractic appointments:
Our clinic remains open, but with limited days and hours as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak. We do continue to see urgent patients, which are defined by the College of Chiropractors of Ontario as those who are experiencing a sudden and debilitating change in functional abilities or significant restrictions, as well as injury to the head, back, neck and extremities. Urgent care is considered treatment aimed at alleviating significant pain, which is understood as pain that is incapacitating for the patient and interferes with their ability to carry out normal functioning.
We know there are a lot of essential workers out there, especially in the Winchester area, and we are happy to provide assistance to those who need it. Our goal has been, and remains to be, helping people, as well as minimizing visits to emergency rooms.
Canadian Chiropractic Association guidelines recommend that there be no support staff in the clinic to minimize contact, so the clinic is operating very differently from in the past. While patients may enter the main clinic door for an appointment, the inner door remains locked to ensure we have control over how many patients can enter. Patients are asked to keep their hands clean and sanitized, and we do the same. Patients should also confirm, in entering the clinic, that they have not traveled outside of Canada within 14 days, do not have a fever or onset of new or worsening cough or difficulty breathing, nor have they been exposed to a known or probable case of Covid-19. Our sanitization protocols remain excellent, and we are working hard to keep everyone as safe as possible.
Given our limited staff at this time, we ask that those who can email the clinic do so atstlawrencechiro@gmail.comas email is monitored more frequently than voice mail. We are, however, keeping our voice mail updated weekly as to which days chiropractors will be seeing urgent cases.
We thank everyone for their support and understanding!
