Research from 2014 showed that looking down at our phones can increase the stress load on the neck and upper thoracic spine by up to 50 extra pounds. This can negatively influence all aspects of human health and performance.  Consequently, the loss of the natural curve in the neck led to incrementally increased stress.

It was also reported that the average person spends 700-1400 hours a year on their phone, with some high school kids chalking up over 5000 hours a year looking down at their phone! Wow!
